Signing Expected During UN General Assembly

Officials expect the United States, Greenland and Denmark to sign an agreement on strengthened Arctic and North Atlantic security next week during the UN General Assembly. The document would still need to proceed through parliamentary procedures before it could take full effect.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen welcomed the planned agreement, saying it would serve Greenland, the Kingdom of Denmark and the United States. She also stressed that the arrangement supports wider transatlantic interests.
