The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office said Gerber died on Sunday at a rehabilitation facility. No cause of death was listed.

Born in California in 1999, Gerber was one of two children shared by Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber. His younger sister, Kaia Gerber, also built a successful career in fashion. Both siblings entered the public eye early, though Presley later spoke candidly about challenges that existed beyond the polished world of campaigns and runway appearances.

A career that began on the runway

Gerber began modeling as a teenager, making his runway debut for Moschino when he was 16. He subsequently appeared in shows for major international houses including Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana and Bottega Veneta, while also working with American brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren.

His portfolio extended beyond catwalk work. Gerber appeared in advertising campaigns for Calvin Klein, Celine, Pepsi and Omega, and was featured in publications including GQ Style and The New York Times Style Magazine. DNA Model Management signed him in 2019; the agency also represents Kaia Gerber, Emily Ratajkowski and Adwoa Aboah.

Alongside modeling, Gerber pursued business interests as an investor and entrepreneur. His public profile reflected the unusual pressures of growing up with famous parents while attempting to establish an identity of his own in an industry closely associated with his family.

Speaking openly about mental health

In recent years, Gerber used his social-media presence and interviews to discuss mental health, loss and substance use.
