Dan Walker to appear at tribunal as ex co-host brings bullying claim

Dan Walker to Testify at Employment Tribunal Over Bullying Allegations

Former Co-Host Files Claim Against Channel 5 News and Its Parent Company

Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije, a former co-host on Channel 5 News, has initiated a legal case alleging workplace bullying by Dan Walker. The tribunal will include ITN, the production company behind the news channel, and Paramount, its parent organization, as respondents. Vanderpuije’s legal representative confirmed the proceedings, stating that the claim centers on her experience of bullying, along with accusations of sexism and misogyny.

ITN has publicly rejected the allegations, with a spokesperson asserting the claim is “denied in full.” The firm plans to address the case through the tribunal process. Dan Walker, who also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, has been approached for his response. The Mail on Sunday reported that Walker denies the accusations and has gathered over 50 character witness statements to support his defense.

A prior internal review of the claims against Walker did not substantiate any misconduct. The tribunal trial, scheduled to begin in London on 20 April, will span five weeks. Vanderpuije departed Channel 5 News in 2024, after which the case was filed. ITN’s CEO, Rachel Corp, is also listed as a respondent to the claim.

“This claim, which is denied in full, will be addressed through the tribunal process,” said an ITN spokesperson.
