Authorities have confirmed that a woman in her early twenties was sexually assaulted by multiple individuals outside a church in Epsom, Surrey, following her departure from a local nightclub. The incident occurred between 02:00 and 04:00 BST on Saturday, with the attack taking place near the Epsom Methodist Church on Ashley Road.
“This is a deeply unsettling event, and our team is providing dedicated support to the victim,” said Det Insp Aine Matthews.
Police are still in the early phases of their investigation and have not yet obtained full descriptions of the suspects. Officers are actively working to track down the perpetrators and are appealing for public assistance.
Matthews added: “We are accelerating our efforts to build a clear profile of those involved and will release updates as soon as possible.” The force is seeking information from anyone who was in the vicinity during the time of the attack and may have observed the woman in distress.
