Kinder Bueno Dark Chocolate Bar Makes Surprise Return After Seven Years

Kinder Bueno enthusiasts are celebrating as a vintage chocolate bar from the lineup is set to reappear. The dark variant of the beloved treat has been spotted back on sale in the UK, marking a much-anticipated revival.

The dark chocolate version of Kinder Bueno vanished from supermarket shelves in 2019 after Ferrero, the brand’s parent company, discontinued it. However, seven years later, it’s making a triumphant return, with the bar now visible in Tesco stores across the country.

Though not listed on the Tesco GB website, the dark Kinder Bueno is available on Tesco Ireland’s site for €1.70, approximately £1.47. This price point has sparked excitement among fans who have been eagerly awaiting its comeback.

Kinder Bueno Dark first launched in 2015 as a limited-edition product to gauge consumer response. Its popularity led to a 2016 revival, where the full-size bar remained in circulation for several years before ultimately being discontinued.

Even after the full-size bar was retired, smaller versions of the dark chocolate variant continued to be sold within Kinder Bueno Mini Mix packs. This ensured that some fans could still access the treat, albeit in a different form.

For those unfamiliar, the dark Kinder Bueno retains the classic smooth, milky hazelnut filling encased in wafer, but is distinguished by its dark chocolate coating. The brand also offers milk chocolate and white chocolate versions, and has recently expanded into ice creams in the UK.

It remains unclear whether this return is a permanent fixture or another limited-edition release. However, Metro has reached out to Ferrero for clarification on the matter.

“Patience is a virtue.”

Despite uncertainty, online demand for the dark version has been robust, with many fans expressing their desire for it to return. It has been dubbed their “favourite” Bueno and “iconic” treat, highlighting its nostalgic appeal.
