Trump says FBI is wasting their – President Donald Trump expressed skepticism on Tuesday regarding the possibility that Senator Lindsey Graham’s passing resulted from any malicious activity. He suggested that federal investigators might be misdirecting their efforts if they are entertaining various conspiracy theories surrounding the incident. According to four law enforcement officials who provided information to CNN, there is currently no evidence indicating that Graham’s death stemmed from unnatural or suspicious circumstances.
Investigation Details and Official Statements
One source explained that local police are performing a standard examination following the death of a public official. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has simply made its capabilities available should they be needed. When questioned about why the FBI was examining the situation or whether he had received any new information, Trump offered his perspective.

The medical examiner provided preliminary findings indicating that Graham experienced an aortic dissection, which involves a tear in the artery and proves life-threatening in numerous situations. Despite these medical explanations, internet commentators have proposed more ominous explanations for the senator’s passing.
Conspiracy Theories and Political Reactions
Laura Loomer, a prominent far-right activist, highlighted that Graham had recently returned from Ukraine, where he advocated for sanctions against Russia, prior to his death on Saturday. Meanwhile, Republican Senator John Cornyn requested that a toxicology report be made public in order to eliminate any possibility of foul play.
Within law enforcement circles, some individuals believed that FBI Director Kash Patel intensified speculation when he made an enigmatic post on X after Graham’s death. The message stated that the bureau was helping local authorities and had provided all necessary resources. Public uncertainty increased when FBI agents were observed entering Graham’s Washington, DC residence on Monday, even though sources had previously mentioned no indications of wrongdoing.
Neither Patel nor the FBI has publicly clarified the director’s statement.
CNN sources indicated that Patel’s message was intended to reference the standard review procedure that law enforcement follows after a legislator passes away. Most information available from people who interacted with Graham shortly before his death does not suggest any improper activity.
Witness Accounts and Medical Context
Senator Tommy Tuberville shared that one of his employees was present with Graham’s scheduler on Saturday evening when the South Carolina Republican contacted her regarding chest pains—a potential symptom of aortic dissection—and requested that emergency services be summoned.

Tuberville relayed this account to reporters on Monday. CNN had previously reported that emergency personnel were sent to a DC location for Graham near 8:30 pm ET based on a chest pain report, according to Broadcastify audio. Multiple individuals mentioned that Graham appeared normal during their conversations with him before he died.
Trump stated he spoke with Graham by telephone prior to the senator’s death, and Graham mentioned feeling fatigued from travel but otherwise seemed well. Senator Katie Britt told CNN she also conversed with Graham over the weekend—after her conversation with Trump—and found him enthusiastic about securing White House support for the Russian sanctions legislation. She reported sensing nothing unusual.
Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal provided a comparable description to CNN. He noted that Graham sounded excellent during their Friday and Saturday conversations.
He sounded absolutely fine. In fact, better than fine.
On Tuesday, Trump remarked that an aortic tear is difficult to identify and mentioned that White House physicians had explained the diagnosis to him. He added that when the tear ruptured, which it did, there was little room for suspicion of anything sinister. He concluded by expressing hope that his friend would have been more attentive to his health.
