Trump Issues Expletive-Laden Warning to Iran Amid Hormuz Strait Closure

US President Donald Trump has issued a strongly worded social media message, warning Iran of potential destruction to its infrastructure if it does not meet a Tuesday deadline to restore full access to the Strait of Hormuz. The post included harsh language, with Trump reiterating his prior threat of unleashing “hell” but expressing optimism about a potential agreement with Tehran.

The warning followed the successful rescue of a second US military personnel from a downed F-15 fighter jet over Iran. On Friday, both crew members had ejected after the aircraft was shot down, with the pilot recovered shortly afterward. The remaining serviceman was located in a rugged area of southwestern Iran, prompting joint US-Iranian efforts to retrieve him.

In a broader context, the tension escalated after over a month of conflict, as Iran retaliated against US and Israeli airstrikes by targeting Gulf Arab nations aligned with Washington and Tel Aviv. The closure of the strategic Strait of Hormuz, which halted normal oil shipments, triggered a sharp rise in global crude prices and raised concerns about worldwide inflation.

Trump declared: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP”

The president later clarified his stance in interviews, stating there was a “good chance” a deal could be finalized on Monday. However, he hinted at the possibility of “blowing everything up and taking over the oil” if negotiations stalled. He also announced an extension of the deadline, pushing it to “Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time!”

Iran’s military general, Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi, dismissed Trump’s ultimatum as “helpless, nervous, and unbalanced.” He added that the threat would lead to “the gates of hell opening” for the US leader. Meanwhile, Israel continued its military actions, striking a petrochemical site in southwestern Iran on Saturday. Defense officials confirmed that further strikes on Iranian energy facilities were planned for the upcoming week.

Additional strikes hit the Qasem Soleimani international airport in southwestern Iran on Sunday. In parallel, Iran launched attacks on Israeli and US Gulf allies, including a ballistic missile that damaged a residential building in Haifa, injuring four individuals. Fires broke out at a petrochemical facility in Abu Dhabi due to debris from an Iranian missile, while Kuwait reported severe damage to oil infrastructure from drone strikes. Bahrain also faced attacks on its industrial and fuel plants.
