Following the downing of a US warplane, US and Iranian forces are engaged in a search for a missing American crew member. Iran stated it had shot down two planes, including an F-15 over the southwest and an A-10 involved in a rescue mission.

CBS reports that one crew member of the F-15 was recovered, while the other remains missing. The pilot of the A-10, which crashed in the Gulf, safely ejected and was rescued, according to the same source.

Iranian state TV indicates the country is offering incentives for capturing the missing airman alive. During search-and-rescue operations, US personnel reportedly encountered hostile fire, as per CBS.
